Renewable energy in the Philippines: Costly or competitive?

According to international studies (Ölz & Beerepoot 2010; USAID 2007), the Philippines has a vast potential for renewable energies (REs) and could become a front-runner in the region for further RE development.

Yet, RE projects still face a niche existence as they are perceived as expensive and not competitive. This study takes a closer look at these concerns.
