To support the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation 2016-2025’s goals for enhancing energy connectivity and market integration in the ASEAN, the ASEAN-German Energy Programme (AGEP) conducted a follow-up study to the previously released Levelised Cost of Electricity of Selected Renewable Technologies in the ASEAN Member States (November 2016). This second study, titled Levelised Costs of Electricity for Renewable Energy Technologies in ASEAN Member States II, aims to determine the current levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) for solar photovoltaic (PV), hydropower, wind, biomass, and geothermal, and help identify necessary policies to encourage fair competition between RE and fossil fuel power plants in the ASEAN Member States (AMS). With a total 134 projects evaluated, this study underlines the main parameters influencing the LCOE in the AMS.
