Under the ASEAN-German Energy Programme for ASEAN (AGEP)–a jointly implemented project by ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)–ACE is developing a study focuses on Cambodia, Lao PDR and Myanmar (CLM), where the market for RE has been developing over these years and financial risk transfer instruments being developed are less known than in other AMS.
The study will identify key barriers that are hindering RE development, provide an overview of existing RE support mechanisms, and recommend key policy and financial interventions to overcome identified obstacles in each of the three countries.
This Executive Summary is a preliminary overview of an upcoming full report, which will provide more detailed information on the current regulatory framework, existing challenges and recommendations for CLM countries, as well as a brief overview of the overall regional situation of RE financing in the ASEAN region.
