Sergey Makarov

Principal Advisor

Sergey Makarov is the Lead Advisor for the ASEAN-German Energy Programme (AGEP). He holds overall responsibility for the successful implementation of this ASEAN-German collaboration, its strategic orientation and accountability towards German donor ministry. In addition, Sergey coordinates ASEAN cluster in GIZ that includes various projects in regional economic integration, environment and institutional capacity-building areas. Having previously worked for the United Nations Climate change secretariat, Sergey brought with him several years of experience in multilateral diplomacy, renewable energy and capacity development. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking in the wilderness and sailing across the sea.
