Establishing Sustainable Business Model

The ASEAN Centre of Energy (ACE) envisions its identity as catalyst for the economic growth and integration of the ASEAN region by initiating and facilitating multilateral collaborations and collective activities on energy. Having a strong founding vision, The ASEAN Centre of Energy (ACE) has been empowered by the organisational development support from the ASEAN-German Energy Programme (AGEP) phase II, a collaborative project implemented by the ACE and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The focus area of organisational development assisted by AGEP is to develop business plan with sustainable financing mechanism. Since early 2021, ACE and consultant firm work together in developing strategic options for viable sustainable financing scheme/concept based on the data analysis and benchmark with other international organisations. Series of working meeting and internal workshop are required to exchange perspective and visions for the future with ACE management.

One of the milestones of this development process is the implementation of the first hybrid workshop that was organised by AGEP on 17 November 2021. 16 participants were attending on site with strict health protocol applied and the rest were joining remotely. The workshop was a great platform to conduct in depth-discussion on recommendation for revenue streams and ACE’s financial model and organisational key performance indicator. Later the recommendation of business plan strategy will be presented to the ACE Advisory Panel and Governing Council in upcoming meeting in January 2022. (HM/DK)
